Stable combustion of low-calorific liquids

The SSB-LCL swirl burner series converts even liquids with extremely low heat values into a valuable source of energy, reducing impact on the environment twice over. Because these substances are often combusted using large amounts of support fuel, SSB-LCL kills two birds with one stone: It makes complete use of these substances to produce heat without using expensive support fuel. That lowers the cost of firing and also reduces impact on the environment. The emission levels for CO and NOx are also pleasantly low, reliably below all limit values.

Firing combines a swirl burner (SSB) with a special muffle that operates with a standard fuel for a short time to heat up the muffle. As soon as it is hot, the liquid fuel is injected with an atomizer gun. A stable, highly swirled flame forms that continues burning without any support fuel. This special design makes it possible to use substances to produce heat that were previously not suitable for that purpose: For example, the liquid could have a high content of fuel nitrogen, a high ash content or up to 50% water, or it could be highly viscous at greater than 30 cSt.

To make firing even more flexible, the SSB-LCL can be extended in almost any way and is also able to combust one additional liquid fuel or one additional gas if requested. Regardless of the fuel and firing rate, the flame is always stable and can be controlled with excellent results, even under unfavorable circumstances. This combustion system has a large control range and will quickly make the SSB-LCL an indispensable component of a combustion system.
